My worry is that maybe the internet is my bottle. I can feel it pulling me away from being a better dad, for example. I've made some progress, but it falls away quick (right now, even), if I dont watch it hawkishly.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Google Reader is a big problem. I avoided extensive use of RSS feeds for a long time because I knew what the result would be. I'm just way compulsive about reading everything. I had to quit using urltweets for the same reason. I felt a compulsion to click every link every day. Crazy.
I think you hit it, Dan. We all have a lot to learn about how to handle the Information Age. I know I do.

We have a lot of learning to do on how to handle the Information Age. I'm struggling with the same dilemmas too.

Like Vince I try to prune gReader occasionally, and I've tried to move away from Twitter. But email is overwhelming all by itself even.

I've been pruning my Google reader down and trying to slim down my things I feel I have to try to keep up with. I'm having some limited success. It's still a fine process to try and get down though.
