Guess what?

I'm still alive! Although, if you watch my blog for signs of life you may not be able to tell.
The picture is from June 22 of this year. I think I had just gotten a haircut. It was taken about three months after I started using my CPAP machine to sleep at night. It has now been just over six months of using my CPAP and, as of last Thursday, I have lost forty-four pounds. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do. That is the good news. The bad news is that I have to go in for a new sleep study now because the CPAP is no longer at the correct pressure due to the weight loss. Anyway, hooray for CPAP. Now I have to get to work.

I don't have much to say

I seem to be going through a slump when it comes to composing blog posts. When I look at my pictures they either don't inspire me to post them or I don't feel like taking the time to write the story that goes along with them. Maybe I just need to go through the pics again. I was just struck with a mini-inspiration...

Something You May Not Know About Snoring

It hurts! That is right, snoring is painful. Since I started sleeping with Continuous Positive Air Pressure on March 19 of this year there have been two nights when I fell asleep without my machine. Neither time did I sleep longer than an hour or two before going to bed and hooking up to my CPAP machine. However, each time a woke with pretty severe irritation in my throat and the back of my nose. The second time, when I slept closer to two hours, my throat and nose bothered me all of the next day. Added inspiration to never sleep without it again.
The CPAP can be a pain in the ass at times. It is never easy to sleep on my side, my mustache never looks quite straight, and if the nasal pillow gets out of place in the night it can leak air and dry my eyes out. The results, however, are far more than worth it.

So at least I blogged about something that isn't nothing today.
